Daisy Dexter Dobbs: Romance Writer, Funny Lady, Pack Rat, and (YES!) Blogger
Although I'm a unashamed reader of romance novels, I have never read any of Daisy Dexter Dobbs novels. This is an oversight I plan to remedy on my next trip to the library. If I like her books only half as much as I enjoy her blog, I may need to get my own copies of her books.
I'd run across her blog, bookmarked it, and visited several times. That in itself says "above average blog" simply because there are so many blogs I love to visit that I guard my blog reading time like gold.
It's Daisy's latest entry - The Sad Tale of Daisy Golightly and the Baby Teeth - that sealed my fate as a fan of her blog. She talks about her pack rat tenancies and a pair of vintage movie star sunglasses she gave away when they were out of style. As a pack rat, I don't believe in giving up things unless one is emotionally comfortable with the parting. I was so sad to read her tale of being talked out of the glasses she loved because they were outdated, when she adored how she looked and felt in them. Now that the look is back in fashion, she is regretful.
All that would be a downer, if not written in a upbeat, humorous style that is typical of Daisy's writing.
Also notable is her artwork displayed on her web page. She does artist trading cards, art work done in a playing card sized format. I'm just plain inspired and will have to try my hand at some. They are displayed in sets. My personal favorite is a mixed media set made with puzzle pieces made to look like bugs.
One word of warning (or encouragement) is that along with humorous madcap romances, Daisy writes erotic woman's fiction. There are some excerpts from her novels on the blog, of course, of the tamer parts, but don't say I didn't tell ya.

Oh, this was just lovely. Thank you so much for your very kind words, Tina. I’m delighted that you discovered and enjoy my blog. I really have fun writing those posts.

I suspect you'll appear on my other blog is soon as I get to read one of your books. I try to write about what I'm reading, but sometimes it's so hard to keep up. I can't imagine how hard it must get to juggle writing books, plus blogging, plus crafting and art (same thing, really), all while having a personal life too. Of course, judging from how happy you seem, it's all worth it, right?
